The committee is elected each March at the Annual General Meeting and serves for a year. Nobody is paid and every post is open to any member who wants to stand.

What the committee does
It meets four times a year, usually for about ninety minutes, and deals with the things that keep a small society running: the accounts, the programme, what gets transcribed next, and the occasional awkward decision about spending money.
Minutes are published to members after each meeting and the AGM papers go out with the spring journal.
Thinking of standing?
Please do. Nominations open in January and any member can stand for any post. If you want to know what a role actually involves before committing, ask whoever currently holds it. They will be honest with you.
Getting in touch
General enquiries go through the contact form and reach the secretary. Journal submissions go to the editor, and anything about transcription to the coordinator. The form will route it.
How the society is governed
We operate under a constitution adopted in 1987 and amended twice since. It sets out the objects of the society, how membership works, and how the committee is elected and can be removed.
